The AWD! Place
I got a note from Doug TenNapel personally involving some of the controversy:
"Thanks for your support, Andrew and all of the Andrew gang! I would never censor myself from putting anything I believed in a story, but Armikrog is completely void of any controversy. It really isn’t fair to do to such a pure adventure game.
I’ll also note that some people were completely horrified at the Biblical parallels in The Neverhood. If some people had their way that game would never have existed. In the end the story has to stay true to itself, and there will be critics looking for demons under doilies in every corner. But to my knowledge, the story could be enjoyed by a paranoid Richard Dawkins with a cultural electron microscope set to eleven.”
It’s kind of sad that people can’t enjoy a game or a book without reading so deep into its author. A LOT of talented people are a part of this project, people who deserve the time, money and respect that Doug himself is trying to raise for them. Doug has made many books, many games, many shows, all with timeless messages of thoughtfulness and peace. Perhaps people should take it just as it is… entertainment.
It’s sad that we have to be reduced to this kind of mess just because a few journalists don’t agree with an authors opinions and try to use their own powers of influence against someone who doesn’t agree with them, even whether he is wrong or right in the matter! It doesn’t matter as long as he’s not hurting anyone personally. What I’d like is a cartoony adventure game that I and several others have been waiting for and deserve.
This isn’t about activism, it’s about entertainment. So to the Bob Chipman’s and Jim Sterlings out there, shut your fat gobs and let people get a great game by great and talented people. You can turn your noses up to the man’s beliefs, but not to his creations meant to entertain others.
So thank you gang.

Continue to support this awesome game, even though I’m not as influential or powerful enough… I can spread the word just a little…
